How You Like That? BLACKPINK’s Lisa Is The New Face Of M·A·C Cosmetics

In news that will please Blinks and fans of the visual representation of “sugar, spice and everything nice,” Lisa from BLACKPINK is coming to your area… and M·A·C’s makeup line.

After taking over our hearts, dropping a new fire album and becoming CELINE’s and Bvlgari’s new global ambassador, the utterly charismatic and talented Thai rapper-dancer, and member of hugely popular K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK, has officially signed on as M·A·C’s new global ambassador. And, not only does it just make sense but it’s a historic achievement: Lisa is the first K-pop female idol to be signed on to the label. And, of course, we love to see it.

“I have always been a big fan of M·A·C,” Lisa, full name Lalisa Manobal, said in a press release. “I like how the brand turns makeup into a form of self-expression, which always gives me great confidence on stage. Together with M·A·C, I am excited to invite and empower more audiences as we both have individuality and diversity at our core.”

It’s no surprise why M·A·C would want Lisa as their Global Ambassador. The 23-year-old star is the first non-Korean to debut under the YG talent agency, speaks Thai, Korean, English and Japanese and has an “aesthetically fierce but not intimidating” and “killer on stage but adorable off” personal style. As Miss Wendy Williams would say, “She’s got a point, she’s an icon, she’s a legend and she is the moment.”

For real tho, she really is one of the prettiest people on the planet 🥺. An absolute beauty. A pure and flawlessly adorable person inside and out! But look, don’t take my word for it. Here’s a juicy and gorgeous exclusive photo of our queen Lisa from BLACKPINK the lovely folks at M·A·C graciously gifted us.

As her BLACKPINK sisters unnie Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé acknowledged in the recent doco film on Netflix, BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky (directed by Caroline Suh), during their trainee years, Lisa always got As for every exam, whether that be rap, dance or fashion. She’s a front-row regular at runway shows, leading the world of fashion with every IG post and music video fit. And, her journey as a Thai performer turned K-pop sensation reminds us that we can accomplish anything no matter where we come from.

Despite only releasing one album before October this year and debuting in 2016, BLACKPINK have made a name for themselves as an international K-Pop band that’s broken into the mainstream non-K-Pop scene. Last year, the four-person girl group performed at Coachella, in a lineup ft. Childish Gambino, Janelle Monae, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Bad Bunny, The 1975 and a bunch more uber famous stars. That moment cemented their footprint in the mainstream market, made Blinks everywhere proud of their girls, and proved that everyone needed to pay attention to this new girl group.

And, during all their ups and downs, the group admit that Lisa has been the one who helps raise their spirits and cheers them up. In a scene from BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky, Lisa returns home to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, and is literally welcomed as the nation’s hero. Surrounded by shopping centre floors of packed crowds of fans pushing through other packed crowds to see her, she is without a doubt an icon and we love to see this new collab.
