Rihanna Wants You To Be A Part Of Her New Savage X Fenty Campaign

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that when our lord and saviour Rihanna dipped her Fenty boots into the world of beauty, fashion and lingerie, she changed the game. The singer and empire-runner started what’s come to be known as the the ‘Fenty effect,’ essentially raising the bar for inclusivity and a wider array of makeup shades and clothing sizes.

More and more since the launch of Fenty Beauty, people are no longer accepting foundation ranges with eight light beige shades, or clothing lines that barely stretch to a large. Even Selena Gomez is taking notes: her forthcoming Rare Beauty line is launching with a whole 48 shades.

Now, Rihanna is set to shake things up again, even from within the confines of quarantine. The Savage X Fenty lingerie and intimates line has made headlines for its diverse casts and mould-breaking runway shows. Models of colour, varying abilities and different sexualities have all graced the Savage X stages, and now Rihanna wants to turn the spotlight onto her fans.

In a new collaboration with collage artist Rafael Perez (@Rafatoon), Rihanna has debuted the campaign for her Savage X Summer collection. The images of the models were all shot inside the model’s homes and in combo with Rafatoon’s collages take us away to a dreamier warmer place. Might fuck around and use one as my next aspirational Zoom background. Or, you could get even more involved.

From now through July, fans can submit their own Savage snaps to the Savage X Fenty IG account. A lucky few will be selected to be photographed over FaceTime and star in the images for a later collection drop. While we’ve seen some amazing socially distanced photoshoots during iso, we can only imagine what the creative team at the House of Fenty are gonna cook up.

The collection itself is, as per usual, bold, bright n beautiful. Highlighter greens, pinks and yellows are paired with silhouettes that mix femme and masc elements. The little decorative “fly” opening on the nude and neon briefs? V cute and sweet nod to the classic boy brief.
