Beyoncé & Megan Thee Stallion Just Broke Everyone’s Necks With A New ‘Savage’ Remix

Today is a blessed day, friends. Today, we gather around our little digital portals to the outside world and allow Beyoncé’s soothing flow on a new remix of Megan Thee Stallion’s viral hit “Savage” to wash over us.

The new remix landed without a huge amount of pre-release fanfare. In classic Beyoncé style, she let her mere presence be the present—and also all the organic marketing this single would ever need. The remix offers us FOUR whole verses of Beyoncé’s almost nonchalant delivery—she’s stepping on necks but she’s doing it casually. In the vein of remixes like Lizzo and Ariana Grande‘s “Good As Hell”, the new version of “Savage” isn’t just a rehash with some extra vocals on the chorus. This remix has some certified A-Grade Texas Barbeque-worthy meat on its bones.

Fans have been gagging for a Beyoncé x Megan collab for a while now, and this delivers the good goods. Both Bey and Meg hail from Houston, and there’s a nod to their shared roots on the outro of the track, “H Town going down.”

Despite keeping her social media elevated and her media presence in general on a tight leash, Beyoncé still has her fingers on the pulse. She references the platform that is definitively the most fertile hit-making ground in 2020, TikTok, before musing on whether she might start an OnlyFans. “Hips tik tok when I dance / On that Demon Time, she might start an OnlyFans.” Like, fuck it, if Beyoncé says so it’s time to Create An Account. Ansel Elgort, are you listening?

There’s also a line on the track that neatly circumvents any of the tired manufactured rivalries between women. Zero beef has occurred between Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion, and the line “I’m a bad bitch, she’s a savage, no comparison here,” tells us that any shit-stirring won’t be tolerated.

As well as this audio blessing, top of the musical gift, both Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion’s shares of the song’s royalties will benefit Bread of Life‘s COVID-19 relief efforts in Houston. Queen shit.

It’s also not the only collab we’re being blessed with: Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat are teaming up on a “Say So” remix. Maybe it’s gonna be a Hot Girl Summer after all 🥺
