Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Dedicated’ Side B Has Arrived And So Has My Serotonin

Any day that begins with Carly Rae Jepsen news is a good day, and fellas, we got some excellent news today. After heavy fan speculation, the beloved Canadian singer has finally dropped a Dedicated Side B: a kind of hybrid follow-up/sequel/mirror to her 2019 album Dedicated.

In an Instagram post, Jepsen thanked her incredibly loyal fans and sent her wishes for the album out into the world. “So, yes there have been whispers and I’m bad at keeping secrets. Side B for Dedicated is out now babies and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share these tunes. I hope it makes yah dance your pants off! Thank you for all the joy you shared with me on this last year of touring. I owe yah one… or like two albums turns out. ;)”

Because she is quite literally an angel, the singer had the sweetest isolation drop message so far, “New tunes for your blues. If this helps in any small way – I’m relieved. Sending you all my love and sharing dis damn side B I’ve been storing in my cheeks.”

Now… go stream Dedicated Side B and get that serotonin!!!

The road to Dedicated Side B

The initial Side B rumours were sparked by a leak by a very enthusiastic Twitter user, @ultrasubversive. The user who previously leaked the track name, release date and lyrics to Jepsen’s anti-Valentine’s Day anthem, “Let’s Be Friends,” and according to them, fans could expect a Dedicated Side B before the end of the month. Understandably, Twitter went absolutely wild.

Then, in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it move from Jepsen, we got another hint that a Dedicated Side B really was incoming. In a video posted to her Instagram on May 17, the anniversary of Dedicated‘s release date, Jepson wished her 2019 banger of an album a ‘Happy Birthday.” The simple post scrolled through the word ‘Dedicated’ stylised in a bunch of different fonts as the opening bars of her song “The Sound” played.

At the end of the video, as the glowing text “Happy Birthday Dedicated” fades out, the letter ‘B’ remains on the screen, blinking like a faulty neon sign in Riverdale. Fans were extremely quick to spot the Dedicated Side B hint, with one user commenting “True Jepsies know what that “B” means… 😎.”
