Harry Styles Delivers Impeccable Italian Vibes

Harry Styles has released his music video for “Golden” and it is a delight. Where “Watermelon Sugar” was a bright, ensemble-filled and joyous party, “Golden” is a solo exhalation, featuring Styles running through the streets of Italy. ICYMI, we got our first sneak peek at the new video when Styles was snapped filming in Italy. If you thought that caused a Twitter stir, please let me direct you to a thread in which someone is screen-capping every single second of Style’s new video.

The dedication… is incredible, but also not surprising. On the one hand, it’s kind of a masochistic exercise to keep this new Styles content on repeat in the background while international travel is simply so far off the cards. On the other, doesn’t watching Harry Styles run around the Amalfi Coast fill you with the conviction that while it won’t be soon, we’ll eventually be eating gelati under a different sun? Given it’s been up for eight hours and has already amassed over nine million views, we’re gonna say it’s making people feel *something.*

Some highlights from the video we particularly appreciate? Styles making the case for optimistic nail art.

We love a dude in nail polish, it’s one of the easiest ways to dip a toe into the world of beauty and shirk off dated gender constructs. (Check out our guide to his gently boundary-pushing style here.) The Boy has previously rocked themed nails before, please see his cute coral set from the “Watermelon Sugar” video. For “Golden” he went pretty literal, opting for a cute alternating yellow and gold situation. It is, naturally, already spawning “Golden” themed manicures from his fans.

Styles also makes a very solid case for the bucket hat and pearl necklace, brb, getting out our beading kits.

Between the wide-leg pants, cute yellow sun protection and peppy nail art, the new “Golden” video is pretty much a textbook for optimistic summer style. We might not be getting to Italy soon, but we can definitely get to the beach. You can watch the full video below.
