It reminded us just how different we are to celebrities, how divorced they are from the rest of us losing our jobs and going indefinite months unemployed, and whether we need them at all.
But, it’s also led to a number of great parody videos.
Today’s catch of the day? Aussie musicians virtually socially gathering together for a performance of the nostalgic slapworthy banger, “Untouched,” by The Veronicas.
I GO OOO OOO, YOU GO AAH AAH
The video features an orchestra of some of Australia’s best indie artists, including Mallrat, Tkay Maidza, Montaigne, Cosmo’s Midnight, Alex Lahey, San Cisco, Wafia, several others and a short clip from the superstar pop twins themselves.
Its extremely DIY aesthetic with everyone kinda singing in different keys, some out of time and just goofing around, is kinda what makes it so special.
Check it out for yourselves below:
La La La La, La La La La
Right now, bunkering indoors and limiting our physical social interactions, “Untouched” is perhaps the unofficial mood of the world during the Covid-19 pandemic. It may have been released in 2007 (oof) but the song’s lyrics speak to us during our time of self-isolation.
Untouched…*dramatic violin string sounds*… untouched… *dramatic violin string sounds*… and I need you so much.
