So, we’ve all become obsessed with Meghan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” and Beyoncé’s slaptastic remix. But, what if the viral TikTok anthem was performed by Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande and others?
TikTok user @TikTokBrownChick has recreated the chorus to Stallion’s song, featured on her Suga album, imitating various different artists. And, ngl, they absolutely slap.
In the Billie Eilish edit, the song changes to have a bit of a trap beat, and the vocals change into an eerie almost whispered tone.
When adapting it to an Ariana Grande track, TikTokBrownChick adds a soft backing vocals—the “yeah” in the original becomes Grande’s iconic “yuh”—and belts and whistles in high octaves like the “Rain On Me” singer.
Then, in her Eminem remix of “Savage,” the super talented TikTok composer raps with a gruffer cadence, adding more 90s and early 00s raps sounds and beats and an almost maniacal tone to her performance.
And, ofc, her version imagining what Shakira would sound like on the song is ripe with latin techno beats and her familiar voice.
The talent jumped out. Srsly. Now I just need her to turn “Savage” into a Carly Rae Jepsen song or Orville Peck. Or, y’know, Lana Del Rey like this TikTok user with their Del Rey rendition of Harry Styles’s “Watermelon Sugar.”
