After more than a year of dating, Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp have broken up. April really is the cruellest month.
A new interview in British Vogue’s May 2020 issue confirmed the 24-year-old Call Me By Your Name and (forthcoming) Dune star is single. The circumstances of Chalamet and Depp’s relationship have always been relatively private, which you really can’t blame them for. Considering the wild cheating rumours Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse have had to deal with recently, conducting a relationship in the public eye doesn’t seem like it’s the most relaxing or romantic vibe.
The pair began dating after meeting on the set of The King, a historical drama based on a collection of Shakespeare’s plays, where Chalamet played King Henry V and Depp played Catherine of Valois. Neither of the French-Americans spoke publicly about their relationship, even previously claiming to be “just coworkers”. The cinematic pap pictures of them kissing in the rain kinda told the story though: young love, v cutie. If you’re kissing your coworkers like that, you’re either dating or someone needs to call HR.
The last time they were photographed publicly was that time in Italy. You know the one:
A kiss that launched 1000 memes, as it were. While breakups are tough at the best of times, going through one in social isolation really kicks it up a notch. If you have your own dating while social distancing conundrums, we wrote a guide about it here.
