If the name Luka Sabbat seems oddly familiar, there’s a good reason for that. Previously rumoured to be in a romantic relationship with Kourtney Kardashian, the up-and-coming TV actor made his movie debut alongside Selena Gomez in The Dead Don’t Die.
WHO IS LUKA SABBAT?
And with the mysterious actor’s star clearly on the rise, we thought it fitting to discover everything worth knowing about him while his fame skyrockets.
HE WAS BORN IN 1997
Sabbat was born on 26 November 1997, making him 23 years old. Born in New York City, he spent much of his childhood going back and forth between there and Paris with his parents.
HE’S AN ACTOR, MODEL AND ‘CREATIVE ENTREPENEUR’
With once-stylist and chef for a mother, and a fashion designer for a father—not to mention his grandmother’s career as an interior decorator—it’s no surprise Sabbat’s resume reads so thoroughly at 23-years-old. Prior to his role in The Dead Don’t Die, Sabbat’s most notable acting role to date has been his breakout role on Grown-ish, a spin-off of the show Black-ish.
Aside from acting, the 23-year-old also has quite the successful modelling career. Appearing on a number of runways around the world—including Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 1 runway back in 2015—and scoring a number of big-name campaigns for Evian, Footlocker, and a slew of other fashion brands, Sabbat is well on the way to become a fashion industry institution.
He also credits himself as a ‘creative entrepeneur’ on his website, counting “stylist, creative director [and] design director” amongst his many professional roles.
HE’S FRIENDS WITH THE KARDASHIANS (AND IS RUMOURED TO HAVE DATED KOURTNEY)
Although Sabbat put a stop to rumours suggesting he was romantically involved with Kourtney Kardashian, he appears to be friends with the family, having been spotted in their Instagram photos a number of times. He previously attended Kanye West’s Sunday Service at Coachella with the family, where he was photographed standing with Kendall Jenner.
HE’S REALLY CLOSE TO KENDALL JENNER
While the model and actor is friends with the entire Kardashian clan, he appears to be particularly close with Kendall Jenner, having appeared in numerous photos alongside the supermodel.
HE’S ALSO CLOSE TO THE HADIDS
Aside from the Kardashian-Jenner’s, Sabbat also counts long-time Kardashian-Jenner family friend Bella Hadid amongst his closest friends, frequently appearing on her Instagram feed—so his chance meeting with Kourtney was bound to happen.
HE’S ALSO FRIENDS WITH CO-STAR CHLOË SEVIGNY
Although they met and were photographed together the year before, Sabbat and Sevigny’s friendship grew on the set of The Dead Don’t Die.
“I remember seeing this beautiful boy and being totally struck. He smiled at me and I melted. I was like, ‘Who is this kid?’ Sevigny told The Cut in February. The duo went on to become friends, with the pair hanging around in New York, hunting for apartments in Soho with Sabbat’s dad.
“‘To me, it’s not about his style. It’s more about his energy and his vibe. I feel like it’s the same with me: People are always like, ‘Oh, she’s a style icon,'” Sevigny added, “But it’s like, there’s gotta be something else, you know?”
HE ALLEGEDLY ONLY SPENDS 18 MINUTES A DAY ON INSTAGRAM
Despite having a 2.3 million strong following on Instagram, Sabbat apparently spends no more than 18 minutes a day on the social media platform. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter whether he has a strategy around how he uses Instagram, Sabbat said:
“No, I just post whenever I feel like it or whenever I get paid. Funny enough, I don’t use it that much. I have a private Instagram I use. But my real Instagram I barely use. I have this thing that tells me…let me see how much time I spend on the gram. My average a day is, yeah, 18 minutes.”
