Claudia Conway—TikTok anti-Trump and Black Lives Matter activist, daughter of Kellyanne Conway and literal legend—is making news yet again and this time? She’s officially bringing down her mother’s ties with the President of the United States, Donald Trump. And you know we love to see it.
Over the weekend, the 15-year-old daughter of Kellyanne Conway, senior counsellor to President Trump, tweeted that she was “officially pushing for emancipation.” Emancipation, if you didn’t know, is a legal process in the U.S. that gives teenagers from 16 or 17 years old independence from their parents or parental guardians.
“Buckle up because this is probably going to be public one way or another, unfortunately,” the Conway teen tweeted. “Welcome to my life.”
Over the last few months, Claudia has made a series of TikTok videos and tweets calling out her mother, the Trump administration and MAGA fanatics, and was consequently silenced by her mother who confiscated her phone during a livestream and threatened to delete all of her social media accounts. But, when asked if her decision for emancipation was because of her mother’s job, Claudia admitted that while she was “devastated” that her mum was speaking at the Republican National Convention, she’s seeking emancipation because of “years of childhood trauma and abuse.”
“My mother’s job ruined my life to begin with,” she said. “[It’s] heartbreaking that she continues to go down that path after years of watching her children suffer. Selfish. It’s all about money and fame, ladies and gentlemen.”
“As for my dad, politically, we agree on absolutely nothing,” Conway continued, claiming in a previous TikTok that her dad was “pro-life and conservative.” “We just both happen to have common sense when it comes to our current president. Stop “stanning” him.”
Shortly after her tweets, her parents both announced they were taking a break from their duties to take care of their family. Kellyanne shared a statement via Reuters, announcing she was stepping down from her role at the White House at the end of the month. Her father, who oddly is part of an anti-Trump group of Republicans advocating for fellow party members to vote for Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden in the upcoming election, revealed he was taking a break from everything to focus on his family.
To quote that one scene from Cabin in the Woods, “the evil has been defeated.”
“[George and I] disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the kids,” Kellyanne wrote in a statement announcing the news.
“So[,] I’m withdrawing from [the] Lincoln Project to devote more time to family matters,” added Claudia’s father, George Conway. “And I’ll be taking a Twitter hiatus.”
“Look what I did,” said Claudia in a TikTok with her parents tweets in the background, clearly feeling shocked, proud and a little bit giddy. “Look at what I did, ladies and gentlemen. Look at what I did!”
It’s unclear whether Claudia will still go ahead with her plan to seek emancipation. But, for now, the 15-year-old anti-Trump activist is taking “a mental health break from social media.”
“This is becoming way too much so I am taking a mental health break from social media. See y’all soon. Thank you for the love and support. No hate to my parents, please.”
